Asymtek Updates Easy Coat® for Windows NT® Software
for Conformal Coating Systems

Carlsbad, CA — Asymtek has recently updated its Easy Coat® for Windows NT® (ECNT) software capabilities. ECNT, written specifically for conformal coating, is the software package used with Asymtek’s Century® Selective Conformal Coating systems. The Century 740 series is the latest generation of selective conformal coating systems originally sold as a Nordson product, and now manufactured and marketed under the Asymtek – A Nordson Company label.

The software enhancement offers flexibility beyond generic motion control/dispensing packages within a familiar Windows® NT® environment. ECNT software incorporates easy-to-use, integrated cut, copy, paste, and delete functions common in Windows applications. Separate programmer and operator access levels ensure programs are not accidentally modified on the manufacturing floor. Online help assists users during programming.

With the updated ECNT software, a BMP or .jpg image of the PCB can be imported and used to simplify on- or off-line programming. The user first keys in the product dimensions, then instruction coordinates can be taught by clicking on the graphical image. If coating both sides of the board, side one and side two images can be associated with the program. The zoom feature helps to isolate a particular area for accurately teaching dispensing patterns. During programming, the displayed coating path is updated on the imported product image, saving both time and money.

Key system events within ECNT, such as start up, run time, product load/unload, and program complete, are automatically recorded in a log file. Data logging can be configured to capture specific data relevant to process improvement. The ECNT software prompts can be translated to languages other than English for improved usability worldwide.
