Asymtek’s Conformal Coating Flow Monitoring System
Enhances Accuracy of Dispensed Material Volume

Carlsbad, CA — Asymtek now offers an integrated flow monitoring system that monitors the amount of material dispensed from the Century® C-740 series selective conformal coating platforms. This new system ensures that products have been coated with the correct amount of material with a repeatability of ± 0.05 cc.

Asymtek’s conformal coating Flow Monitor system provides feedback on the material flow performance through standard EasyCoat® for Windows NT® (ECNT) software. Combined, the PC system and ECNT software monitor the gear-type flow meter during the coating sequence. Upon completion, the ECNT software records and displays the data graphically. The logged values are stored in a database and can be exported.

The Flow Monitor system, which is compatible with all C-740 systems equipped with either the Swirl Coat™ or SC-205 Film Coater module, triggers an alarm condition when the dispensed volume exceeds its range. This alarm allows the operator to make adjustments to prevent possible defective products.

Asymtek’s Flow Monitor system consists of three major elements: the gear-type flow meter, an interface board, and the ECNT 2.5 or greater software. Stainless steel construction of the meter ensures that the Flow Monitor is compatible with all conformal coating materials. Flow monitoring occurs during the production cycle with no impact on the cycle rate and without increased material usage.
