Asymtek Adapts the C-720 Dispensing System for Optical Components and Assemblies

Carlsbad, CA — Asymtek introduces the Century C-720 dispensing system configured for optical component assembly and production. With its dual-action head fitted with a DJ-2111 DispenseJet® valve to dispense fine dots of Loctite® UV-cure adhesive and an EXFO® LED UV light source, the C-720 system can dispense and cure UV adhesive dots at speeds up to 20,000 dots per hour.

The C-720 system is an ideal laboratory or pilot production machine for those manufacturers who need to increase production rates and product consistency over their current manual processes. The highly flexible C-720 dispensing system has a number of optional features and can support many different types of valves and pumps, depending on the fluid and application. Equipped with a suitable pump, valve or jet, the C-720 system can be used to dispense silver epoxy, UV and thermal adhesive, wire bond encapsulants, underfill encapsulants, solder paste, surface mount adhesive, index matching gel, solder mask, silicone, lid sealant, and many other types of adhesives and fluids.

The DispenseJet non-contact valve dispenses consistent dot volumes over time and requires no operator intervention. Because most UV adhesives do not contain filler materials, they are particularly well suited to jet dispensing. The DispenseJet valve and UV light source are both controlled through Asymtek's Fluidmove® for Windows NT® software.
