Asymtek's DispenseJet® DJ-9000
Jet is Ideal for Medical Device Manufacturing and Biotech
Product Assembly
Carlsbad,
CA - Asymtek's new DispenseJet DJ-9000 provides precise, high-speed delivery of a wide variety of
fluids including UV-cure adhesives, encapsulants, conductive
epoxies, and underfill. Jetting solves challenges in constructing
the precise assemblies of many medical devices and biotech
products. Jetting has proven to be one of the best ways to
dispense fluids, and breaks through many of the barriers of
traditional needle dispensing - jetting is non-contact, it
is faster, it has lower cost of ownership, and it is accurate.
The DJ-9000 is ideal for small devices. Fluid exits the nozzle
in a 100-micrometer diameter stream, allowing the DJ-9000
to jet into tight spaces as small as 200 micrometers. It achieves
dot diameters as small as 0.33 millimeter, and shot volumes
as small as 3.6 nanoliters.
The DJ-9000's features include:
Speed: no Z-axis motion; jets "on the fly"
with no stopping required between dots; high flow rates over
120 mg/second (for underfill materials); high shot rate up
to 200 dots per second; less height sensing required; no needle
backtracking to prevent fluid stringing.
Quality: high wet-dispense accuracy; smaller wet-out
areas; round and uniform dots; improved line quality and line
knit. Common problems such as bent needles, component damage,
and dripping are eliminated.
Low Cost of Ownership: less waste of fluid due to
its small, wetted path; cleaning in 10 minutes or less without
tools; consumable parts are less expensive; no required under-board
support; one model handles multiple applications.
Reliability and Traceability: The DispenseJet DJ-9000
was designed for use with Asymtek's automated
fluid dispensing systems. When used with the Axiom or
Millennium system, a feature called Calibrated Process Jetting
(CPJ) will track dispensing for accuracy. CPJ is Asymtek's
patented weight-controlled system that uses automatic calibration
to deliver a user-specified amount of fluid consistently.
CPJ controls critical aspects of the fluid dispensing process
in a closed feedback loop. Those process variables, including
positioner movement, fluid weight, fluid flow rate, dispense
pattern, and heat controls, are coordinated and controlled
within the closed loop to ensure consistently repeatable delivery
of user-specified fluid amounts. As a result, fluid is reliably
delivered throughout low- to high-volume production within
tight process tolerances.
Asymtek supplies award-winning automated fluid dispensing
systems, specializing in semiconductor, surface mount, and
electronics packaging applications. With over 20 years of
experience, Asymtek is committed to providing innovative dispensing
solutions and the best support to customers worldwide. Find
