FmXP Language Translations I. Installing the desired language library file. 1. Unzip the .exe file from the .zip file. 2. Double click on the desired .exe file to activate the "WinZip Self-Extractor" dialog. 3. The language dynamic link library (.dll) file is stored in compressed ("zipped") format in the .exe file. To unzip the file and copy it to the default folder (C:\FmXP), simply press the "Unzip" button. The language .dll file should be placed in the same directory as the FmXP.exe file. The installation program for FmXP puts the FmXP.exe file in the C:\FmXP directory. Hence, this is the default directory for the language .dll file. If it is desired to put the .dll file in a different directory, change the entry in the "Unzip to folder" edit control. Note: The .exe file may contain additional language-specific files for FmXP, such as Prompted Setup Script (.pss) files and Help (.hlp) files. These files should also be stored in the same directory as the FmXP executable (.exe) file. 4. The "Overwrite files without prompting" checkbox is NOT selected by default. Not having this option selected means that if a file of the same name as one in the zip archive already exists in the destination directory, the installation program will ask you to confirm the replacement of this existing file with the one in the archive before proceeding. If you choose to select this option, a file in the archive will automatically overwrite any existing file of the same name in the specified destination folder. II. Selecting the desired language when running FmXP. 1. Click the "Configuration" button in the Main window, then "Select Language" from the resulting popup menu. Select from the list of available languages. Languages are "available" if the corresponding dynamic link library file (what was installed in I. above) is present in the FmXP program directory. 2. The language in which the FmXP user interface is displayed (the "selected" language) may be changed to any of the available options as often as desired while FmXP is running. The language which is selected when FmXP terminates will be the selected language when FmXP is next activated.
